Hello,

I have tempauth in my /etc/proxy-server.conf setup

[pipeline:main]
#pipeline = catch_errors healthcheck cache authtoken swiftauth proxy-server
pipeline = catch_errors cache tempauth proxy-server

[filter:tempauth]
use = egg:swift#tempauth
swift = admin:admin
password = swift
privileges = admin .admin .reseller_admin

i started the services on my proxy node with <swift-init [main="" rest]="" start="">, and I don't know what's the syntax to use for tempauth with <swift> and <curl> commands. Can someone please help? I am really new to OpenStack - Swift.

and I don't have keystone setup, reason is that i want to keep things simple as I am a newbie.

Thanks in advance!!

-Jimmy

If you just want to try out Swift the easiest way possible, I recommend using Packstack[1]. Tempauth doesn't have much documentation and it's not likely to change[2]. Another good way to get started with Swift is to follow the SAIO[3] installation for development.

To install Swift on a single machine using Packstack:

$ yum install openstack-packstack
$ packstack --gen-answer-file=swift.ans
$ vi swift.ans

Change the answers to 'n' for everything except Swift, Keystone, MySQL (used for Keystone) and the clients.

$ packstack --answer-file=swift.ans
$ source keystone_admin
$ swift list
