OpenStack components distributed.

Can we have controller in one location and compute in different location and network in another location? Is this possible? Just thinking of a use case - using spare servers in different location and make them participate in Openstack infrastructure cloud.

Sure it's possible, although the latency introduced by wide area links may be frustrating. Generally, there are no requirements that the components of your OpenStack deployment be located on the same layer 2 network.

larsks is correct, although I would highly recommend using Regions or Cells for this kind of deployment. By not using one of those, all instances in all remote locations will share the same network service. That could get a bit hairy.
