I have configured an 2 networks (external and internal) with a router between their. So quantum-l3-agent contacts the metadata service to get metadata when I launch an instance. But now I want to create a simple flat network without my router. When I do this y instance can't to connect to the metadata service (network unreachable)

How to contact metadata service with my new flat network without break my previously configuration ?

Thanks in advance for your help

With Grizzly on Ubuntu I was able to get metadata via the DHCP namespace.

In dhcp_agent.ini:

enable_isolated_metadata = True

Also the subnet must not have a gateway, and the instance must request DHCP option 121 (classless static routes).

Thank you for your answer :)

This recent tutorial deals with metadata with DHCP namespace:

But now I have the following error in my instances: 20130624 12:22:53,405[WARNING]: '' failed [50/120s]: url error [timed out]

Strange can you post the #quantum subnet-show $sub-id-provisioned

What OS is the instance? Is it requesting and applying the static route for from DHCP?
