ODL with Openstack:

I modified neutron portion of localrc to enable odl-server & compute available in latest devstack (icehouse) as below:

Q_PLUGIN=ml2 Q_ML2_PLUGIN_MECHANISM_DRIVERS=opendaylight,logger enable_service odl-server odl-compute

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/69774/

Now I am able to integrate ODL with Devstack and in single node setup, stack.sh was completed properly without any errors. Created networks using Neutron.

I made sure both ODL (server, compute) and Openstack were running properly. However, I am unable to launch any VM and the error I am getting is "Host not available".

Any pointers please.

Thanks, Shankar.

After merging the patch, there was a change in an interaction between nova and neutron: "event notification", and I think it affects VM launching with ODL mechanism driver. The bug is reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1301449 and we have a fix for this in https://review.openstack.org/#/c/85176/ . Could you try it? The fix will be released in Neutron RC2.

Sure. I will try with Neutron RC2. Thanks, Shankar.
