Is there a way passing user specific Instance Name instead of using heat default naming convention while spinning a VM. And also can we pass the VM Class name instead of using the default one while spinning Instance or during autoscalling from the template ?

https://blueprints.launchpad.net/heat/+spec/as-intermediate-resources (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/heat...) is the one that will deliver the most immediate results.

You can specify the server name explicitly (with the 'name' property) for an OS::Nova::Server resource, but not with an AWS::EC2::Instance resource. See http://docs.openstack.org/developer/heat/template_guide/openstack.html#OS::Nova::Server-props (http://docs.openstack.org/developer/h...)

There is currently no way to autoscale anything other than AWS::EC2::Instance resources (I think that is what you are asking?). We are well aware that this sucks and it is being worked on as we speak.

Can I have a blueprint to have this implemented, autoscale other than AWS::EC2::Instance resource?
