Nic ordering not respected by Head

Folks,

When I create an instance from Horizon (dashboard), I was able to order the NICs as I prefer. I started using a Heat template to create an instance. The problem is my appliance assumes eth0 is connected to a particular network and eth1 is connected to another network. The order in which I specify the NIC interface in the heat template is not respected when the instance was created. Is this a bug or is there a way to enforce NIC ordering?

Any help is appreciated.

The documentation on the OS::Nova::Server 'networks' property states that it is "An ordered list of nics to be added to this server". So if it shows up out of order I would consider that a bug.

Note, however, that the guest operating system has a lot of discretion in how NICs are mapped to interfaces (e.g. eth0). I'm not sure how Horizon ensures that this happens in the way you want?
