OpenStack is documented to run on hypervisors other than the ones listed above, like Hyper-V and ESX but is ceilometer capable enough to report statistics about VM's running on other hypervisors especially compute-specific data like CPU's, VCPU's, CPU utilization time and memory utilization, etc.? If yes, do I need to configure ceilometer for that?

If no, can I expect ceilometer to support these in the near future(in Havana)?

Hyper-V support for ceilometer is on the Havana roadmap.

"Hyper-V usage metrics can be obtained by using the rich WMI V2 API available starting with Windows Server / Hyper-V Server 2012"

Details are at https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ceilometer/+spec/hyper-v-agent
