Should I use PATCH or PUT method to update a domain?

asked 2013-07-10 12:33:45 -0600

I’m trying to update a domain with PUT but the request is returning 404 Not Found, however, I was able to update it with PATCH. Is that the expected behavior? So, PUT is not supported?

PATCH v3/domains/a7ec266429b54643b0682f1c8c0ff38e

{ "domain": { "description": "This is my domain", "enabled": true, "name": "MyDomainUpdated" } }

Status 200 OK Response:

{ "domain": { "enabled": true, "description": "This is my domain", "name": "MyDomainUpdated", "id": "a7ec266429b54643b0682f1c8c0ff38e" } }

I talked to Lin Hua Cheng who told me that PATCH is the correct method to update a domain, so I'm closing this question. PUT is only used for creating association of entities (creating user assignment to role, groups)."
