cannot run a VM on the compute node

asked 2012-07-25 14:45:48 -0500

I have a openstack installation working on 2 virtual machines :

a nova controller running all service including compute(nov1) and a nova compute to run some VMs(nov2). I can create VM on the the nov1 without any problem. but when I can't create a VM on the compute node(nov2). Here is what my nova-compute log file on nov2 looks like:

Looks like you're not running this as a user that can write to /var/lib/nova/instances ?

I'm confused -- how do you control what user that nova or amqp will run as? Shouldn't this be set automatically from the installation of the respective packages?
