can i implement my scheduling algorithm in nova

i'm doing research in optimized resource provisioning. I want to implement my scheduling algorithm. can i do in open stack .

and to do whether i should install DevStack or Installing OpenStack Essex (2012.1) on Ubuntu 12.04 ("Precise Pangolin")

of course you can do it , write your own scheduler filter you can refer to nova/scheduler/filters/ . the fast way is to use devstack as a develop envirenment.

Hi Yaguang,

Regarding the use of devstack, whenever I run the ./stack.sh script, it redownload everything. Can you point me out the way to recompile openstack without redownloading?

To avoid redownloading set OFFLINE=true flag in localrc.

I also find out that we can set OFFLINE=True in ./stack.sh script ;-)
