Hi,

I am trying to integrate the Horizon with SMTP to send mails.

In the local_seetings.py file, i have configured the EMAIL* options but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions on this?

If you've followed Django's instructions for configuring your email backend that should work (make sure you set EMAIL_BACKEND as well as the other standard options).

Is the problem that you get an error when attempting to send mail, or that you aren't receiving mail? If the former, what is the error? If the latter, what email are you expecting? The only emails I'd expect you to get are the 500 error notifications when DEBUG=False sent to the email addresses listed in the ADMINS setting. That's a pretty standard Django deployment setup.

Thanks Gabriel Hurley,

Sorry for the late response. :)

I misunderstood the EMAIL* settings.

My expectation was -

When creating an user, we mention the email address. So if that user do some operations like "creating instance or deleting instance", then the user will get a mail like "Instance created - Instance_name"...

Now, i understood, the local_settings.py is django settings file and it is not related with OpenStack components.

Thanks again for you help and please share if you have any comments about my requirements. :)
