Failed to create OVS patch port (patch-tun: patch type requires valid 'peer' argument)

Hi All,

I am following the quick-start guide for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. When setting up quantum I ran into the following error. I believe this version of OVS supports tunneling and that the error shown in my syslog (e.g. Jun 12 13:29:36 test1 ovs-vswitchd: 00207|netdev_vport|ERR|patch-tun: patch type requires valid 'peer' argument) is causing the service to fail (reporting an incorrect version of OVS). Any idea how to track this down?

Thanks, Sam

Hi, I saw that. I believe the version of openvswitch shipped with Ubuntu 12.04 is acceptable though (it is used in the guide). I was hoping that including the snippet from syslog would help find a solution.
