while step to create the LVM Physical Volume and Logical Volume:

pvcreate /dev/sdb

I get

root@grizzly-controller:~# pvcreate /dev/sdb Device /dev/sdb not found (or ignored by filtering).

Do I need LVM? I think I have one more disk (maybe not enough space on it?) Is this error very important? Does LVM is someting really necessary?

Yes, you need to create physical volumes if you want to do with LVM.

  1. create PV
  2. create VG

before creating the cinder volumes
