I have used this guide (https://github.com/mseknibilel/OpenStack-Grizzly-Install-Guide/blob/master/OpenStack_Grizzly_Install_Guide.rst) to deploy openstack on a Ubuntu VM inside vmware esxi.
I want to boot the cirros image but after i've created & launched the vm i got "Error" on the "State" column.
My /var/log/nova/nova-compute.log file is empty. I've tried also with an ubuntu image but i always got the same result. What am i doing wrong?
With nova show $vmname i've found this: fault message no valid host was found.

If nova-compute.log is empty then that would suggest that nova-compute never started.

Hi ,

There are many reasons which sets instance to ERROR state like Host doesn't have sufficient resources to allocate the instances, there may be some Configuration issues etc. Set debug = True in nova.conf and restart the nova-compute service and post the compute logs.
