Hello, I have microstack installed and I can create vms to a point where it will fail. My setup runs as: 48 GB ram 24 cpus (2x xeon E5-2440) 468G / volume

I have 11 vms created and working just fine. I can create or delete vms and everything will just work. If I go to overview on the dashboard, i have resources available as follow. Instances: 11 of 24 vcpus: 13 of 24 ram: 17GB of 48GB

So I create a big vm, with 8cpu and 16gb ram and it fails, "No valid host was found" If i choose a smaller flavor, 4cpu and 8gb of ram, it works perfectly. Disk space is always the same, 10gb, as the image requires. So, one could say that this is evidently a matter of no available physical resources a, but those resources are available.

Am I missing something here?

Also this command: microstack.openstack hypervisor stats show

| Field | Value |
+----------------------+-------+
| count | 1 |
| current_workload | 0 |
| disk_available_least | 311 |
| free_disk_gb | 357 |
| free_ram_mb | 30205 |
| local_gb | 467 |
| local_gb_used | 110 |
| memory_mb | 48125 |
| memory_mb_used | 17920 |
| running_vms | 11 |
| vcpus | 24 |
| vcpus_used | 13 |

As I said, I have resources. free -m and df -h show the same values.

free -m
Mem: 48125 5923 26120 4 16080 41633
df -h
/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-ubuntu--lv 468G 33G 415G 8% /

Does anyone have an idea?

On microstack, everything goes to syslog, I dont have separate log files for each service.

Thanks a lot
