On my master node (horizon, etc) I have a huge file in the ROOT directory called "data". It is 40GB and has filled up the hard drive. I installed Rocky with RDO Packstack. Any idea what this file could be for?

I don't have a Packstack lying around to test it, but it could be the loop device that contains Cinder's physical volume. Try the file command to check what it is, and losetup -a to see if it is in use as a storage device.

Thank you for responding. losetup -a doesn't return anything, but the file command returns:

file data

data: QEMU QCOW Image (v3), 214748364800 bytes

I just checked with a Stein Packstack. It doesn't have /data, but losetup -a lists a loop device for Swift and another one for Cinder.

I am speculating: Since it's a qcow file, perhaps it's an image that was downloaded as part of the Packstack deployment?

Okay, thanks Bernd. Do you think it's safe to delete?
