Loss of fernet/credential keys

I am designing a Keystone deployment and am thinking about how to distribute fernet and credential keys in an automated manner. I started to write an explanation of our scenario, but then realised that my question boils down to this:

If we were to lose access to our fernet/credential keys, what are the consequences?

Our only OpenStack service is Swift, so my initial assumption is that we would have to re-generate the Keystone auth system, but no one would lose any data.

When you configure a new keystone server, it will generate automatically fernet/credentials key. Then, If you want to use the same keys for multiple server, you have to copy/paste manually.
