The communication get lost between nova and neutron due to Authentication Key [keystone_authtoken]. We have to reboot openstack server to fix it. I wanted to have some kind of alerts via api to know if nova isn't talking to any of the services. So that it can be fixed or look at.

There is no monitoring API as far as I know, and in any case, APIs work only if you can authenticate. I am afraid you need another solution, perhaps by watching the log files.

If you can be more specific, I or others might have suggestions - how do you know that authentication is the source of your problem, how does the problem manifest itself etc.

Thanks! Yes there might be multiple reason and not just authentication. But the first step is to get alert that something is broken may be like ping test every 15 mins. Can you pls suggest some logs to dig the problem. I'm new to Openstack and still learning.
