You can understand that endpoint means a station where client will communicate with system.

Do you have a specific question? If not, does this help? Basically, openstack uses a set of services to provide a cloud infrastructure. Each of these services have to be addressed in the identity service (keystone). Endpoints are URLs and ports, that's how you talk to the services.

Endpoint is not an OpenStack concept. All web-based APIs have endpoints. They are the URLs by which an API is submitted.
