Hi, I am currently using my lab dhcp server instead of openstack dhcp network. so dhcp is disabled in my openstack flat network the ip shown in horizon is always diffrent from actual vm ip. Why is this difference happing. is this some issue of metadata service?

Also one more doubt how do i get metadata if i disable: enable_isolated_metadata to false?

PS: setup via kolla-ansible train branch

Any help would be much aprreciated

That's usual if your DHCP server is running outside of OpenStack , neutron doesn't know what IP has been allocated to it & henceforth neither nova knows it.

If you have external DHCP server, best way to create a port with fixed ip from same dhcp range & assign this port during VM creation,in this way it will be in sync.
