Hello! I'm interested in using the Monasca module for monitoring some Openstack instances.
I saw that it's possible to install the Monasca API through the local.conf file with devstack and I was able to do it. After that how do I configure the alarms and notifications? and how can I start the monitoring? Because when i try to define something I receive an error "Cannot retrieve event/alarm/notification information".
I'm sorry but I'm quite new to this, any help is appreciated.

While I know little about Monasca, try https://docs.openstack.org/python-mon... and https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Monasca. The wiki page contains the IRC channel for real-time conversations.

That was helpful, thank you. I tried registering on the IRC channel but actually got no response, I'll try again!

I don't think you register; you just hang out and hope some helpful member of the project is there as well. They may have meeting times, too; check the wiki page again.

Today is Sunday. Probably little traffic right now.

Update: I don't really know what the problem was, probably only a configuration error, because I was able to configure the Monasca APi either with all the components and with the minimal configuration.

Refer here to install Monasca API with the devstack plugin: link text
