Hi all,

I am getting the following error while installing openstack queens using packstack.

ERROR : Error appeared during Puppet run: 172.16.10.21_compute.pp
Error: Execution of '/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install openstack-nova-migration' returned 1: Error: Package: 1:openstack-nova-compute-17.0.12-1.el7.noarch (centos-openstack-queens)

yum install openstack-nova-migration
Error: Package: 1:openstack-nova-compute-17.0.12-1.el7.noarch (centos-openstack-queens)
           Requires: qemu-kvm-rhev >= 2.10.0

Thanks in advance!

A suggestion: Run the yum command manually without -d and -e. This will print more detail.

A question: Did you start with a new operating system? If not, there is a chance that incompatible software existed prior to starting packstack. Always run packstack right after a fresh OS installation.

Thanks for your suggestion! My OS is fresh and above I already gave the output without -d -e.

clearly your qemu-kvm-rhev is of a lesser version.

Sometimes there will be a looped dependency, where qemu-kvm-rhev cannot be updated becasue something else depends on it. This then blocks the "openstack"...

so go find out what else is using "qemu-kvm-rhev" (sometimes it can be older openstack installs) get that version updated first , then retry the upgrade.
