Hello guys,

I have the following doubts with the nova image-list command.

Is the image-list is the same image list as of in glance?

which credentials should i have to exported to work this command? is it the credentials of nova or glance?

The following is what i have done in my nova terminal (192.168.1.75). I have insatlled glance on another machine (192.168.1.65) and so as keystone (192.168.1.70). Will my nova node communicate with glance or should i make any changes in configuration? I am strictly following http://docs.openstack.org/havana/inst...

 root@ubuntu:~# nova image-list

I am not sure about the OS Password in the above? Kindly help me on this.

Check the compute service. It may not be running.

@dheeru Sir i guess the compute service is running. I was able to restart the following successfully. # service nova-api restart # service nova-cert restart # service nova-consoleauth restart # service nova-scheduler restart # service nova-conductor restart # service nova-novncproxy restart

What should i provide when it asks for OS password? Is the compute node have to communicate with glance node to produce image-list? i really doubt about the credentials which has to be exported.Kindly help me.

Either the nova-api service is not running or firewall/selinux is blocking connection to nova API service. Check nova-api status (service nova-api status), if it is running, try running the image-list command from the controller node itself.

please refer to this guide for setting up your environment first.

Was this command executed from your Keystone host (192.168.1.70)? Is nova-api service running on the same host as keystone ?
