Rebuilding MariaDB database

Hello OpenStack community!

Over time as I've built and learned OpenStack my MariaDB has gotten messy. Even though this was initially built as a development environment it eventually became production, as these things tend to do. Over time I've naturally had quite to build up of deleted/dead/bad entries. It's causing problems with instance building, dashboard display problems, volume migrations, etc...

Hypothetically, if I rebuilt the MariaDB Database from scratch, would all of the tertiary services(nova, cinder, neutron, etc..) repopulate their current information?

These services keep their information in the database. Actually, that is precisely the purpose of the database.

If you reset the database, their information goes away.

That was my assumption of course. I had just really hoped the agent had some functionality to also repopulate information should it be inaccuret/missing/corrupt. Thanks for confirming.

Oh well. Time to make a backup and see what I can do about manually cleaning it up!
