I think you can set it globally with global_physnet_mtu in neutron.conf, or (assuming your core plugin is ML2) physical_network_mtusin ml2_conf.ini. See also a brief MTU and jumbo frame discussion in https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/la....

I have provider networks which has mtu as 1500, hope it won't affect those network, also i was looking for an option in "openstack network create" command using which i can use to set MTU

Yes you can set the MTU of a network; see https://docs.openstack.org/api-ref/ne.... You may have to enable the net-mtu-writable extension.

Also can do the same by updating MTU column in network table inside neutron database in MariaDB? Will it work?

Anything you do directly in the database is unsupported and is likely to have unintended consequences.

Why modify the database if you have an API?

Hi,

It's like Bernd Bausch said. Since Pike You can configure MTU per network using Neutron API. API extension net-mtu-writable is supported by ML2 plugin so if You are using ML2 it should be loaded automatically. If You are using some other core plugin, than it depends on this plugin if this extension is supported or not.
