Hi all,

For our Openstack infra we used stein release and the configuration was done by packstack. Namely, we want to use our local office network (ip pool 192.168.x.x/23), as a floating ip pool (external network) on Openstack. The point of all of this is to have local (private) platform as a service. Using the office network (192.168.x.x) as an external network on Openstack, should provide us access to the VMs on Openstack and also an internet access to the VMs.

Part of the neutoron configuration in the packstack answer file looks like this: CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_TYPE_DRIVERS=geneve,flal CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_TENANT_NETWORK_TYPES=geneve CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_MECHANISM_DRIVERS=openvswitch CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_FLAT_NETWORKS=* CONFIG_NEUTRON_L2_AGENT=openvswitch CONFIG_NEUTRON_OVS_BRIDGE_MAPPINGS=extnet:br-ex CONFIG_NEUTRON_OVS_BRIDGE_IFACES=br-ex:ens33 CONFIG_NEUTRON_OVS_EXTERNAL_PHYSNET=extnet

With this type of configuration, the traffic is routed through the br-ex interface using the openvswitch. However, once the bridge is created, we encounter issues in the local office network. Some of our services (like postgresql), get down. For some reason, the bridge connection from openstack is causing this problem.

Any advice, what could be the reason for this kind of network behavior? Or how could we debug the issue?

Thank you in advance.

Filip
