PCI-passthrough with RTX2080Ti?

Hi I'm wondering if anyone has had success using PCI-passthrough with RTX2080Tis in nova. I've passed 1080Tis just fine for the past two years, but now that we have 2080Tis the instances are taking a few minutes to a few hours to start, which is unacceptable.

The 2080Tis have, in addition to an audio device, a usb and serial device. I had to unbind those from the kernel on boot because the usb drivers are built in to the kernel and not a module so blacklisting doesn't work. I have 4 cards per system and I have a 4 devices in the IOMMU for each card listed as being used by vfio. I first tried only passing the GPU through passthrough(like I do with 1080Tis), but I have also tried passing all 4 devices and there is no change. I get no errors in the logs and enabled debugging logs on qemu/kvm and don't see anything out of the ordinary. The instances do eventually start and work properly, but the long start time won't work.

Has anyone else tried this and/or seen the same issues? Any recommendations?

FYI for anyone else that runs into this issue, I downgraded the nodes from ubuntu 18.04 to 16.04 and the problem went away. Still not sure what the problem is but that fixed it for now.

Hi there, can you tell me what guide you followed? I'm running into problems on ubuntu 18.04 with 2070.

Dont think its software problem rather me doing something wrong.
