Hi All I have installed & configured Openstack all-in-one from the steps given in RDO site,following the below steps specifically.

packstack --allinone --provision-demo=n --os-neutron-ovs-bridge-mappings=extnet:br-ex --os-neutron-ovs-bridge-interfaces=br-ex:eth0 --os-neutron-ml2-type-drivers=vxlan,flat.

Now everything working OK, but when i tried to launch instance, that got failed. I looked in the neutron server log file & also the nova compute log file "nova-compute.log". "nova.compute.manager [req-deda46b5-93bd-4f88-b2c4-ef6789389aa4 e5698221820741d7a734561262650859 6f1fdc27d07444e6aa253f92ad3f5f44 - default default] Instance failed network setup after 1 attempt(s): PortBindingFailed: Binding failed for port 0642d959-a216-4142-973c-9e50b755230f, please check neutron logs for more information." then looked in the neutron server log file.

ERROR neutron.plugins.ml2.managers [req-76a35abe-555c-4117-8aed-33d21c68f38d 8c617ac24c7742b9992ca546206e40a2 c6b0ec2f15e24092912562e68d028566 - default default] Failed to bind port 0642d959-a216-4142-973c-9e50b755230f on host openstack for vnic_type normal using segments [{'network_id': '652a10ab-854a-4ec5-a637-e8e9b1be067f', 'segmentation_id': 43, 'physical_network': None, 'id': 'dc61c9ac-5db3-4aa6-b6ad-a61dbc1a9a2b', 'network_type': u'geneve'}

Please help me to resolve the issue.

regards Arup

Instead of OVN, now I am using OVS through Queen's openstack pack, which resolved the issue.

Hi arup_thakuris, How do you change from OVN to OVS, by editing the "CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_MECHANISM_DRIVERS=ovn" to CONFIG_NEUTRON_ML2_MECHANISM_DRIVERS=ovs"?

Since Stein, Packstack seems to deploy mechanism driver OVN and type driver Geneve by default. See https://ask.openstack.org/en/question... for an invocation of the packstack command that works.

I suggest you start from scratch, i.e. reinstall the operating system, rather than retry packstack on the current installation.

Thanks Bernd for your response, what I understand that as we did the Stein pack stack deployment & in turn which deployed OVN & due to which the issue occurred. So we need to implement OVS which will resolve the issue.

yes, correct. And I hope that the other ask.openstack.org question, which documents my problem and solution, will help you.

I have not tried OVN. It's not that different from OVS, it seems. You may want to give it a try as well and report back :)
