Hi,

I want to know the network hardware requirement for openstack (selfservice)

L2 plain switch or L2 managed switch or L3 switch

I am using SG300-52 L2 managed under my local lab setup will it work for openstack lab setup?

is it ok to install controller node as VM on esxi? what configuration require on network side on esxi as well as on controller node? is it promiscuous mode enable is required?

Any switch should be fine. It’s OK to put the controller on a VM (I run all my OpenStack labs entirely on VMs), but I can’t tell you what specific Vmware network parameters are required. Probably promiscuous, yes.

Sorry, but i don't know the answer to the question. When I run virtual OpenStack hosts, I don't enable anything particular at the networking level, but then I am not using VMware. It could be that promiscuous is enabled by default.
