Unable to Access Openstack DashBoard.

Hi everyone,

After following the OpenStack liberty Install guide, i'm now in the step of trying to access the dashboard for the first time but every time i try to access horizon this message shows up:

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@localhost to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Don't use the Liberty install guide, it's not compatible with recent OpenStack releases. The most recent install guide is at

As Bernd said, don't use older version of OpenStack. Use latest versions. You will face many issues if you try to install older releases.

Even once i had the same issue,

In the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/openstack-dashboard.conf , I added the line:

WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL}

In the file /etc/nova/nova.conf , make sure you have added below lines.


enabled_apis = osapi_compute,metadata

and problem got solved.
