I use KVM as a physical server and i made several VMs on it. But KVM went shutdown and went up last week , and after that some of my VMs are deleted .. But i don’t know why some VMs alive and others are deleted. Is there any basis? FYI, there is some cases that has no id in openstack but has physical id in kvm. And i think this is the case which is deleted vm.

After a compute node reboot, instances should be shut down, but not deleted.

Was it a proper shut down or a crash? Perhaps instances were in the process of being deleted, and the host crashed before it could complete deletion.

I would check the Nova log files for information regarding the deleted instances, in particular the nova-api and nova-compute logs. Focus on the time when the server shut down.
