l2 links between VMs

Hello,

I am using an RDO installation of HAVANA on fedora 19 with several compute nodes. Neutron is configured with GRE. What I want to do is to connect directly (with layer 2 link) one Virtual machine with several others. That is, one VM having multiple NICs connected with multiple VMs with one NIC each.

Important thing: these connections should be layer 2, no need of IP... Basically the central VM should run OpenVSwitch and manage connections between the others.

I tried to launch an instance (cirros) linked to a network that has no subnetworks but it fails to run.

Would some one have any hints on how to do so? Thanks!

I don't think this is possible in Havana, without changing the source code. See http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/...

Thank you for the answer. Any chance the patch is integrated in the Icehouse?
