Hi, Is there any other backup tool than cinder-backup? I am interested in volume backup, which is attached to VM. Other possibility for me is to use tool to backup snapshot of the volume, but without cloning the snapshot. We use Lenovo storage DS6200 where cinder-backup cannot backup currently attached volumes. The volume cannot be detached because it is bootable volume attached to VM. This is not supported by cinder-volume driver.

backup snapshot of the volume, but without cloning the snapshot

Not sure what you mean by that, but if your backend supports snapshots, create a snapshot and back it up. Or create a volume from that snapshot and back it up.

Other than that, I would be surprised if there weren't backup tools that cooperate with IBM disk arrays. How about Tivoli (to be honest I only know that it exists, not how to use it)?

Or you use one of the commercially available backup solutions on the VM.

You could also look into the OpenStack Freezer project, which provides "Backup as a Service".
