If I keep self-service subnet different from overlay network IP series, then how the interlink will happen between those different subnets. Can we able to trace that ?

How tenant network subranges are mapped to the underlying tunnel or VLAN network depends on the core plugin. In case your cloud uses the ML2 plugin (I would say at least 90% do), it depends on the mechanism driver.

For example, the Neutron Networking Guide shows how traffic flows when using the Linuxbridge driver and the Openvswitch driver.

Yes you can trace traffic, although it's a bit of a challenge to trace it through Openvswitch bridges. Personally I learned a lot from https://assafmuller.com/category/open....

Yes Bernd, We are using linux bridge and understood the overlay network happening between VXLAN interfaces of compute and controller and packet tracking also fine in tcpdump .

Thanks for your help!
