Hi All,

I have setup openstack on a single node(having centos) using packstack.

I have uploaded few images and created few instances out of them. I need to connect to the instances from the host OS.

What network setup is required for this. I do not wish to allocate public IPs to the instances now. Just want to acess the VMs(ssh and https) from the host server(centos machine).

If you mean the Packstack host by "host OS", no particular setup is required. By default, Packstack creates a fake "external" network with an address of (not sure about the 28) to which a route from the host exists.

Actually it didn't create any network. Tried installation of openstack using packstack twice.

In my devstack setup, an external network bearing address was created.

Do I need to create a bridge on my host OS(centos)? a OVS bridge or something?

I have manually created network on my openstack env - and created a router connecting this network as gateway, but not able to reach that network from my host OS. What additional config needs to be done?

No need for setting up bridges or anything else, just run the packstack command and you should be able to reach the instances via their floating IPs. If not, the setup was not correct. Did you create a default Packstack cloud or did you specify parameters or an answer file?

I provided an answer file for packstack installation.

could it be that you misconfigured the network?
