publicURL endpoint for orchestration service in null region not found. I get this error on the master k8s node when creating a kubenetes cluster via magnum/kolla. I've spent a week trying to figure out the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

The region_name is null in /etc/os-collect-config.conf region_name = null

I'm not sure how to set this in kolla/magnum

Hi! I've just seen this post. It might be you hit a issue I found a couple of weeks ago. It has been also tracked here:

As workaround you can create this file: /etc/kolla/config/heat.conf

And paste this content:

Note: Make sure it is the same region you are currently using.

After that just execute a "kolla-ansible -i <inventory> reconfigure"

It worked for me.

Hope this help

This was due to a regression in Heat when multi-region support was added for Software Deployments. Setting the region_name_for_services explicitly in heat.conf (and of course reloading heat-engine) is a good workaround. This patch should eliminate the issue.

Setting region_name_for_services = RegionOne in /etc/heat/heat.conf solved the same issue for me. (And I restarted heat, and recreated the magnum cluster.
