Hi team,

I am successfully running RDO on a single server and looking into the option to set a cluster with RDO having two controller nodes and four compute nodes. All the nodes will be connected via LAN and no external access is needed. Searched over Internet and went through few docs too but not getting a clear idea on how to proceed.

Any help/guide in right redirection will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Very interesting question, I guess RDO doesn't support such an installation for 2 controller nodes from scratch, but just an idea, what happens if you first install one controller with 4 compute nodes and then copy your answer file over to the second controller node and adjust the answer file and run packstack against that answer file and I guess at least in the answer file on the second controller node you shall set CONFIG_MYSQL_INSTALL=n (if for instance you have installed mysql on the first controller node and you might grant access to the db user on the 2nd controller to connect to mysql server) and keep nova.conf in sync on both controllers and decide if you want keystone to be HA'ed, etc.

Please forgive me if the idea is too simple or stupid ;-)

I'd a look just now on the HA documentation here about Cloud Controller Cluster Stack with Pacemaker, Corosync, etc., but it seems to be too upstreamed for RDO :-)

But I guess in general it should be possible to use RDO with HA support with some additional effort, but I'm wondering why there is no guide for setting up a second controller node for HA also on Red Hat OpenStack Platform Guide here:
