suppose I have an instance (with 2 GB volume space allocated). Out of 2 GB, lets say 500 MB is used by the instance user. Now used space is 500MB and available space is 1.5 GB. So where this information is getting stored in database. Is it in mysql database or any other database(mongodb). if it is other database then, as a admin of cloud service provider, how can I access that through command line.

As for currently implementation, all the data should goes to ceilometer default database (i.e mongodb), the easiest way you can check that is login with mongo db and do

use ceilometer
show tables

you will see metric and other tables

then search the data you want in metric table, the desired record should be found. use the findOne query command ref to this link http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/refere...

Another way is use the ceilometer cli ceilometer statistics -m volume.size

The third way is use the ceilometer rest api for details check this link http://developer.openstack.org/api-re...

Hope that helps!
