swift middleware [closed]

Hi,

I've configured my swift-proxies to be used with ceilometer by adding the swift_middleware in my pipeline as described in the doc : in my proxy-server.conf I added the following filter: [filter:ceilometer] use = egg:ceilometer#swift + inserted in my middlewares pipeline

Is there any way to prevent the middleware from trying to read the config file /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf (because of the line ceilometer.prepare_service([]) ,), for example by adding a local config flag in the [filter:ceilometer] section.

This causes several issues :

  1. the swift-proxies run with the swift user. What if swift does not have permission to read in /etc/ceilometer/ (which should be for the ceilometer services, not other processes). A middleware inserted in the process pipeline should take its config from /etc/swift (just like the keystone middleware for example)

  2. because of apparently incompatible config flag values in /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf and /etc/swift/proxy-server.conf things get messed up for logging

The only (not acceptable) solution I found to bypass this is to let the /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf file without any logging option while using a second /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer-service.conf file for the ceilometer services running locally.

Any advice much appreciated
