hello and Merry Christmas,

i am in neutron package and i checked the /etc/sysctl.conf file but i dont have these variables ( net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-ip6tables) can i add them and set them to 1?

(Ensure your Linux operating system kernel supports network bridge filters by verifying all the following sysctl values are set to 1:

net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-ip6tables)

A warning before you start: While you can install OpenStack by following the instructions in the tutorial, you will need to have a minimum of Linux administration skills to troubleshoot anything that goes wrong, or to adapt the instruction to your particluar case. Asking this question indicates that you lack those skills.

You can ensure that your kernel supports network bridge filters by checking the presence of the correpsonding files under /proc/sys: ls proc/sys/net/bridge.You can then set the parameters to TRUE by writing to the files, e.g. echo 1 > proc/sys/net/bridge/bridge-nf-call-iptables.

You can also check and set them with the sysctl tool sysctl net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables and sysctl net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables=1.

To make the settings permanent, write them to the sysctl.conf file.

See man sysctl and man sysctl.conf.
