Floating IP cannot be pinged

I have OpenStack Pike installed in a VM on a virtual box. The VM has one bridged interface for internet and another one with NAT and the IP from the NAT interface is used for OpenStack. After I have configured the compute instance with the internal and external network, router and floating IP -> I cannot access the floating IP. Please, what should I do, because I have tried different solutions and nothing works.

For example, when creating the external network I am using local, because flat is not working to be created, maybe because I don't now the name of the Physical net (is it ext-net?). Is it really necessary to use only bridge?

What should be the steps to work? What type of external network to create that works with the NAT set on my virtual box host (ubuntu 16.04.4) so that I can access the floating IP (the compute instance) from my host.

Thank you very much and hope you can help. Silviu

We had a similar issue and we ended up deleting the entire private and public network, routers and recreated again and assigned to the VM and the VM started working again

Thank you. I understand, but what was your config and how did you createthe external network: local, flat, vlan? Did you use NAT for the host in virtual box?

Can you help me with some steps? I have created once again everything, using flat, but still cannot access the floating IP. My bridge network (from wi-fi) is NAT network is I have tried with flat, using bot subnets, but nothing. Please, some advice or steps?

How did you setup the external network? What subnet did you use (the one from the bridge network or nat)? What gateway has the router assigned to the external network? Is the same with the gateway from the external network? I just need some guidance cause I don't know why is not working.
