I have a Devstack instance on a single VM. Id like to demonstrate container deployment through the horizon gui not just vm deployment. IS magnum the correct way for this ? the whitepaper states this as much but im sure it will be strictly cli

https://www.openstack.org/containers/leveraging-containers-and-openstack/ (https://www.openstack.org/containers/...) I found these for magnum install & its cli all the way.

http://egonzalez.org/magnum-in-rdo-openstack-liberty-manual-installation-from-source-code/ (http://egonzalez.org/magnum-in-rdo-op...) https://docs.openstack.org/magnum/latest/install/install-ubuntu.html (https://docs.openstack.org/magnum/lat...)

Have i not read enough or understand openstack enough to look for a gui feature in horizon to let you deploy containers from there ?

Magnum doesn’t deploy containers. It deploys clusters of VMs that run containers, managed by Kubernetes, Docker Swarm or Mesos. You then use Kubernetes, Docker or Mesos to manage your containers.

What you want is achieved by OpenStack’s Zun project, as far as I know.
