After some initial experiences with the AIO/Vagrant/live demo, to test the update from Newton to Ocata to Pike i have used a strange approach: I have booted and installed Fedora28 on a external USB 3 disk to have all my PC resources available fro a nested virtualization (I7, 32Gb ram) . On Fedora I have installed the KVM virtualization modules then i created one Centos 7 Vm (1Gb, 1 Cpu, 40Gb hd, 2 nic) that i have tuned, updated and prepared for openstack. Then 5 clones (1 controller, 1 compute, 1 block storage, 2 object storage) and using the official documentation i have installed Newton step by step. Ok, the disk is a bottleneck and the system is not running at the speed of light but my main OS is clean and openstack is working and this was a real training lab! :D
