in /etc/resolve.conf write nameserver 8.8.8.8

you should set dns server delete all the thing in /etc/resolve.conf and write nameserver 8.8.8.8

You should test two thing 1.test internet connection of each nod Try ping 8.8.8.8 2.test connection between each nod forexample Try ping controller Ping compute

Do you try ping 8.8.8.8?

For the controller node i modified the resolv.conf and the ping 8.8.8.8 works correctly and the ping http://openstack.org also. But it always returns to the first nameserver and with this nameserver it works also correctly.

For the compute node it failed to start.

Ping google.com? When you can ping 8.8.8.8 And can not ping google.com There is problem with your DNS The other thing that you can do Go to /etc/network/interfaces And below the interface that give you internet add dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8 And after that Ifdown the interface then ifup interface

ping http://google.com works perfectly for me in the controller and compute nodes after each reboot of the os the nameserver in the /etc/resolv.conf take the default name

ping requires an IP address or a hostname as a parameter. http://openstack.org is neither.

Try ping openstack.org.
