Need help understanding the physical layout of a multi-node deployment
New to openstack.
I am considering implementing openstack to replace our current hypervisor. Currently I am running Proxmox and is very easy to install and scale. However, it lacks the true "cloud" feel and other components I am interested with Openstack.
My problem is that Proxmox and Openstack seems to be different in the network layer because Openstack has its own networking component.
What I am not understanding is which subnets of the Openstack should I configure on the physical router and what should be the best practice for wiring a multi-node deployment?
At the moment, we are using 3 Target host (compute, controller, network) we will plan to scale at later point. We are also using the Openstack Ansible deployment method. I am stuck in properly coming up with an IP scheme and how to reflect the IP scheme in terms of what is Internal and External network.
Any insights or a pretty dumb down version of the current documentation will help.
BTW each servers are Dell R610 with w/4 nics.
*sorry if my english/grammar is not perfect.
There is an ancient (almost three years old:) blog series that probably addresses your question: http://www.opencloudblog.com/?p=557. Even if it was written for Liberty, I am sure it can still be used for inspiration. No, I am not the author.
