I have copied the template file from https://github.com/openstack/vitrage/... for host down scenario. The template also passed. When I made compute host shutdown, the resource state is chaging from available to UNAVAILABLE. but when I check vitrage alarm list, it's empty. Even one vm is also running on the particular host and its resource state in vitrage also changed from active to shutoff. But I couldn't see any vitrage alarms. There are no errors in the log files. Openstack release : pike Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Hi,

Are you using a monitor that detects the host being down (like Zabbix, Nagios, etc.)? if so, you should verify that it's configuration in Vitrage is correct (in /etc/vitrage/vitrage.conf).

If you are not using a monitor, Vitrage will not have an alarm that the host is down. The purpose of Vitrage is to collect information (topology, as well as alarms) from other datasources, arrange and correlate it. It does not have monitoring capabilities, so you have to connect it to an external monitor.

Best regards, Ifat
