Hi Everyone, Recently I installed zun service in Pike for both Centos and Ubuntu 16.04 but the problem is as soon as I configure zun service followed by installing requirement.txt via pip command, I lost all my Nova service and unable to establish a connection error. Could anyone pls give me a suggestion, is that any other way to install zun or some other steps needs to follow before installing requirement.txt with pip commands for pike in order to prevent Nova going down or vanish for the same?? Any solution Very Highly appreciable!!!

What do you mean by "lost all my Nova service"? Did they stop running? If so, what's in the Nova log files?

Where do you see the "unable to establish connection" error?

Hi Bernd Sir, What I mean is I was not able to find nova components like nova conductor, nova scheduler, nova-compute, nova console, none of the components I'm able to see and when I going to check in dashboard unable to retrieve nova service list...

Thereafter when i'm checking # OpenStack compute service list then with OpenStack cli then it's showing unable to establish a connection or failed to establish a connection [Errno 111] , connection refused after performing requirement.txt. Could you pls give a suggestion for this pbm in zun.

I don't know Zun at all, but your situation seems to indicate that the openstack client can't access the Nova API or the Keystone API or both.

Perhaps by installing Zun you overwrote your OS_* environment variables. Run export | grep OS_ and check if they are correct.

I believe Zun's installation is independent of Nova. I wonder how you installed Zun. We have an installation guide that we suggested users to follow:

However, we don't have an installation guide for Pike. If possible, we would recommend to install the Queens version. If you are using Pike's version of OpenStack, you might consider installing Zun by using virtual environment (http://docs.python-guide.org/en/lates...). This approach should give you an independent python environment for the Zun installation.

Nova-docker allows accessing containers via Nova's API, while Zun is not bounded by Nova's API.
