just the correction on configuration drive mechanism. SThis is equivalent to cloud-init and it's called cloubase-init. The company that originated the project is called cloudbase. Here is the link -> https://cloudbase.it/cloudbase-init/

Greetings Qing,

Ironic is able to deploy MS Windows as a whole disk image. The important aspect of this is that the contents of the windows image needs to be compatible with the host being deployed to. You may also want to consider if you need configuration drives. Ironic can write one, however windows doesn't natively have a way to read it and utilize the information in the image. I believe ?cloudbees? developed tooling to read and process a configuration drive, which can be installed in the image prior to deployment.
