how the internal DNS resolution works for multiple servers which have the same/identical server names/hostnames?

From the documentation (The Networking service internal DNS resolution) it is not clear what happens if I create a second nova instance with the same name how the dns_name/hostname will look like ? Does the instance creation fail or append a suffix to avoid duplication ?

Thanks, Kristian

It will allow duplicate names. DNS allows multiple IPs for the same A/AAAA recordset.
