Hi,

I am unable to create trove instance. I have installed all-in-one openstack using packstack as POC with Trove. I have created mongodb image and also created datastore.

When i try to create trove instance i am getting following error in trove-taskmanager.log

I have checked for error in cinder, nova, keystone and other trove log files. couldn't find any other errors except following one. If i try to create volume with cmd "trove create my-inst 15 --size 1" it works. But when i try to create instance either from horizon or cmd line "trove create mongo-inst2 5 --size 1 --datastore mongodb" , i end up with this error.

2017-12-07 17:13:31.929 3590 INFO trove.taskmanager.models [-] Creating instance 6343fd39-9332-42bd-a078-2bf774532ece.

Finally after dozens of test runs I figured out that the error disappears if you change

cinder_url = http://controller:8776/v1 to cinder_url = http://controller:8776/v3 in trove-taskmanager.conf.

Unfortunately the trove documentation ist one of the worst in the Openstack universe and it seems to be hopeless outdated!

Note the little bug symbol on most documentation pages. Don’t hesitate to use it.

This bug is now reported: https://bugs.launchpad.net/trove/+bug....

Yes, I have reported this bug. And several others. But none of the bugs has been fixed yet :-( I have marked my bug report as duplicate of yours now.
